Intensive Russian Attacks Cut Power In Ukraine's Capital

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while inhabitants in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered problems to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from area administrators.

Russian forces has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What is required is not window dressing but decisive action - from the US, Europe and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a online statement.

He said that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "strategic and deliberate" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.

Government representatives said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A series of attacks damaged electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the capital have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes follow nights of air raids in the territory, sections of which are currently controlled by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with strikes already disrupting gas facilities.

He said utility staff and government agencies were anticipating further attacks.
