One ranking policeman who jumped to the assistance of a colleague who was ambushed by a knifeman has been awarded the Monarch's Honor for Bravery.
Sergeant Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown after he held a knife to the throat of his colleague Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown launched his attack as the officers and their partner, Police Constable Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist after a vehicle incident in that location in July 2023.
Brown attacked with blade both Sgt Ansell and Sgt Foster before PC Wolstencroft stunned him with a stun gun.
