Aircraft Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Beach

A chopper soaring above a popular California coastline suddenly started spinning out of control, finally losing altitude and plunging into a cluster of palm groves as beachgoers looked on.

Footage uploaded on social media show the chopper commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the perimeter of the coast, where it becomes wedged among palm trees and a set of stairs near the shoreline route.

Emergency Response Details

Emergency responders reported five persons were rushed to the hospital including two who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the crash on the weekend.

Three individuals on the street were harmed. Details on their injuries were not yet released.

The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
